Burning Dog (1991)

Seiji Matano has an uncanny resemblance to Yƫsaku Matsuda, and the film does have a look and feel that make it seem like a budget version of The Game Trilogy. Gritty dirty crime underworld, a misogynistic brute as a protagonist in cool sunglasses. The plot itself is rather thin and the film does tread water for quite a while with some attempts at character development, until the actual heist gets going after an hour. The last 40 minutes is pretty cool, and while the straight to video constraint does show, this was fine for an uncomplicated tired late Friday night.
