Sentimental Value (2025)
An almost Bergman-esque examination of artists sacrificing themselves, and their loved ones, for their work and how that language is the only one way they can get find deeper connections through. Plenty of film-makers meta touches, with De Palma like blend of fiction and reality, both pulling the rug under us with revealing the “magic trick” of what makes a movie - that everything is fake, while simultaneously underlining how it can still deliver emotional impact.
