Crime Hunter: Bullets of Rage (1989)
The first entry in the V-Cinema collection is off to fast paced 60 minutes gritty bloody explosive action. While most character development and narrative complexity is stripped down in favor of getting the premise rolling for one action scene after another, it isn’t completely devoid of interesting layers to appreciate. Deaths clearly matter here, there is genuine sacrifice and personal motivations that feel earned beyond the basis of simple revenge. And Seiji Matano is just badass in his ridiculously big sunglasses.
