Desert Fury (1947)
Yet another murderous melodrama. This time very much about control in many forms. Everyone seems to be trying to exercise control over one another. Fueled by jealousy and unfulfilled expectations, either by pushing someone to be together or trying to stop them. Lots of interpersonal power dynamics going on, which does have potential to be really emotionally dramatic but never reaches any highs. It has the structure for plenty of drama, but for me it was mostly flat. Nice car chase in the desert in the end though.
