House (1977)
Can’t remember the last time I saw a film with so much creativity. It is wild how many film technical experiments and odd choices this has. Odd editing choices, tonally offbeat music choices, dated but impressively creative visual effects and with an impressive use of set decorations that works as a precursor to some of the famous kill scenes in Nightmare on Elm Street. I was so taken a back by all the impressive things going on at the screen, that I sort lost sight of characters and whether the narrative worked on an emotional level though. Probably could benefit from a rewatch to get that angle as well.
