Under the Sun of Satan (1987)
This strangely ended up being one of the most challenging thing in a while for, but not sure if it is in a good way. This films to me seems to demand symbolic interpretation. The film is filled with religious imagery and most dialogue lines sound like quotes from a very literary book. In that way the film resisted me greatly as I am rarely in tune with that style of filmmaking, but I was still strangely with the film all the way through. A big part of that down to Depardieu. I could give it 3 stars as it is sort of an either-or experience, but I am more inclined to simply not rate it, as it more a puzzling thing than a film I have any opinion on or any emotional experience to tag to it.
