Branded to Kill (1967)
I expected noir and it certainly has the look, but I was happily surprised that it was also an absurdist black comedy that break all the rules. I managed to surrender to the lack of cohesion in the plot, and really just enjoy all the little cool details the film is scattered with. Crazy and sometimes hilarious assassinations, the whole childish competition of being number 1 was icing on the cake. I have no intention of trying to decipher or understand any deeper symbolism, because it stands perfectly well on its own simply enjoying the absurdist experimental nature of each scene.
