Hatchet for the Honeymoon (1970)

A very psychedelic and dreamy giallo. Not a lot of killing or mystery, as we know who the killer is. The film becomes more about the gradual insight into the why. The aesthetics here is almost gothic and less of the usual grittyness from the genre, as it leans heavily into the supernatural and the absurd in the second half. Conventional logic is left behind and replaced by thick symbolism of the killers motivation and madness. With the right mindset this is a really interesting film, but might disappoint if one expects more normal giallo horror.
