To Be or Not to Be (1942)

Crazy movie on all accounts. Intense tempo, rapid fire dialogue, unapologetic satire, and a convoluted plot filled with spy shenanigans, schemes, deceptions, things going both right and wrong. I laughed mostly in the beginning, but the chaos of the narrative was mostly engaging in itself. It is difficult to grasp that this was made in 1942, because in many ways it feels like a movie that would have been made with some years of distance to the whole thing - like in the 1950s.
