Double Jeopardy (1999)

If watched at another evening I might have disliked this more, but I was just in the mood for something like this. The basic premise is rather silly with movie logic applied to rule of law, but it makes for an entertaining thriller. The twist happens quickly and is obvious, and we get a fairly straight forward thriller with comedic elements with cheesy 90s melodramatic acting. Tommy Lee Jones brings his a game, even though the script doesn’t, and Ashley Judd is great as the quick thinking resourceful wife out for justified revenge. Plenty of things fall apart if you think too much, but you don’t have to to be properly entertained.
