Nothing Sacred (1937)

It has the building blocks for a screwball comedy, and it is occasionally funny in some of the physical gags, but I was mostly underwhelmed by this. I did however enjoy the setting of a tabloid newspaper in the 1930s and we get some great shots of New York from that time. Despite its age, the underlying theme of what people will do for fame and double down on their lies to keep the story going resonates to this day. Truth goes out the window for a good story. In some ways it works as a very early precursor to Network. But despite those qualities, I did find myself slightly bored.
