Exotica (1994)
Took a bit of a wild recommendation, and it is fun being led places you otherwise wouldn’t have picked up. The general texture and atmosphere of this film is very 1990s, and I really liked just “being” with this film. The pace is mellow, the tension and drama is understated but always present, and it looks fantastic. But the general mystery and the final reveal didn’t grab me that much, though I can appreciate that the execution is well made.
