Drive (2011)

I didn’t remember much from this other than Gosling being cool and Refn delivers some really nice visuals. Which pretty much about sums up the entire movie. The crime plot is well known territory with someone stealing from a bigger fish and getting in trouble for that, old debts needed to be paid and all that, but what makes it stand out is Gosling’s calm almost mute persona and how that calm exterior is shaken up and unleashes something brutal. Mostly an exercise is style, but damn well executed.
