A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985)
Liking the first one so much, I went ahead at bought a boxset with the entire series. I expected that there will likely be a drop in quality, which there was as everything is basically a notch down. It was still enjoyable from start to finish. It is both very similar, too much as many plotpoints are basically carbon copy, and in a wildly different direction. The creative set pieces still work really well, when objects start attacking on their own Final Destination style. Many individual scenes are great, but don’t really fit together. There are some really odd editing and pacing choices that gives a disjointed experience. Interestingly enough, on the bonus material both the director and Wes Craven are openly critical of the movie, and I agree with Wes that it felt wrong to have Freddy appear in plain sight at the party. But it was also clearly a rushed production from the success of the first, and generally I was properly entertained.
