Irma Vep (1996)

One of those cases where I am mostly just indifferent to a film. It could work as a sort of double feature with The Dreamers with a self-satirical depiction of the French film industry and the highbrow idea of “art” that sometimes surround it. Yes it is funny at times, and goes all in on refusing to be traditional in any way. I wasn’t bored or annoyed, just meh. Maggie Cheung, and she certainly brings an element of normality to this bizarre film, but she doesn’t save the film either.
