I Am Love (2009)
This was on my watchlist but I can’t remember why I added it. I guess because of Tilda Swinton, which is never a bad reason to watch something. This film had all the things I love about Italian cinema, as it is loud, obnoxious, flamboyant with a cast of characters from the aristocratic elite combined with a floating and determined moving camera. For a long time the film has sort of two almost unrelated narratives going on, with a business track and a hidden love affair. Things sort of come together, gets thrown in the blender and in the end everything is a big mess and nothing matters anymore, expect for that minor character everyone in the film has forgotten about. Artsy and weird, without any clear resolutions, but still a satisfying watch.
