The Heroin Busters (1977)

Fast-paced, funky score, overly convoluted plot, explicit drug use, plenty of action. All the ingredients for a well rounded poliziotteschi and it delivers, without doing much more. It doesn’t appear to have any larger ambitions other than entertainment, which is fine, but I do wish there was a bit more meat in the 2nd act. It starts well with a police investigation into a drug-ring going sideways, and ends in absolute spectacular entertaining fashion. Creative use of set pieces and locations, that include lot of construction sites, metro tunnels and scaffolding. It is worth watching for the final 30 minutes alone. I just wished David Hemmings was given more screen time.
