The Hand of God (2021)

This being a semi-autobiographical film it is in some ways more “normal”, as it doesn’t quite have the same excess and extravaganza as his other films, though compared to Spielberg’s The Fablemans it is still pretty unorthodox. It works as a sort of coming of age type story for this young man finding his unusual way into the world of filmmaking, which mostly becomes interesting in the second half of the film and I found the first part to drag a bit in places, and lacking the glamour of his other films it wasn’t quite as captivating.
