A Bay of Blood (1971)

As a kid I played the board game 13 Dead End Drive and this movie is basically the explicit version of that. Everyone gets killed for the final survivor to get all the inheritance. As a pioneer in the slasher genre, this films delivers in its kills. Brutal and bloody and spectacular. Everything else is mediocre to be honest. It lacks the atmosphere and style from other giallo films, and it doesn’t build the anonymous killer(s) up as intriguing characters. It is worth watching for its influence and the kills, but there are plenty of similar Italian slasher films from that decade I would rather rewatch.
