Mallrats (1995)
Clerks is an absolute masterpiece and while Dogma is a gem in its own right, Kevin Smith’s films always feel a little lackluster. Mallrats would maybe have been better it wasn’t impossible to rank it up against and compare it to his debut film the year before. I had a difficult time not seeing Brodie and T.S. as mostly a copy of Randal and Dante. Some of their mannerisms and how they talk are just too similar. The basic story is still pretty funny, especially the finale of the dating show is worth the time.
