Easy Rider (1969)
While all movies are a product of their time, this one is perhaps more so than most. Serves as both an influential part of the sociatial shift of the late 60s and as a sort of historical entry on the conflict between conservative and new way of thinking. On its own, it is also a truly atmospheric vibe film with mesmerizing scenes of Hopper and Fonda driving their bikes through the American landscape to an epic rock soundtrack. While Hopper and Nicholson delivers the most colorful characters, I found myself mostly drawn to Fonda’s quiet introspection.
