Lights in the Dusk (2006)

Aki Kaurismäki’s films are even more similar in their aesthetics and techniques than Wes Anderson’s films, and this one is no different. Same deadpan humor, characters acting with practically no emotion and a lovely color palette with 60’s aesthetics even though it is set in the present. Here we get a simple, yet sweet, love-crime-drama story. A misguided guy have to take a long detour with chasing a woman who only is after him to use him in a big jewelry heist, only to end up with who he really is supposed to be with. A solid entry, but probably mostly for Kaurismäki fans.
