Fried Green Tomatoes (1991)

It has been way too long since I have seen just a good old fashioned heartwarming Hollywood drama, and this was like wrapping yourself in a warm fuzzy blanket. It tackles dramatic big themes such as death, spousal abuse and the KKK, and it deals with those themes by taking them serious, but there is just so much good in this film. Beautiful friendships, people caring for each other and their community, standing up against tyranny and even though it is filled with nostalgic reminiscence of the past, it also fosters hope for the future. It is not about being sad what is gone, but appreciate that it happened.
