Hiroshima Mon Amour (1959)

It seems like French New Wave just isn’t really for me, though Varda and Truffaut are notable exception. I loved the cinematography, especially when the shots outside, and the documentary aspect in the beginning was fantastic. I sort of wished we would have gotten more of that, like another Night and Fog. There is nothing wrong with the premise of two lovers reminiscing their relationship with the Hiroshima catastrophe as the historic backdrop, but I just couldn’t get properly engaged in those two just talking - or more like reciting poetry to each other.
