Band of Outsiders (1964)
Sort of aimless and very French film about being young with no clear direction in life. Some elements feel very modern in a sense, like the scene showing that young people 60 years ago also struggled to sit in silence for 60 seconds, and speed running Louvre? Didn’t expect that. As a whole, it didn’t really connect with them and whole robbery felt very jarring compared to the otherwise charming atmosphere, though I suspect that is entirely intentional. Anna Karina was very enchanting and basically the highlight of the film, among some of the iconic experimental touches like muting the sound, 4th wall breaking, dance scene and narrative voiceover.
