Alive or Preferably Dead (1969)

An early comedic Italian western that is pretty silly but not an outright spoof. Giuliano Gemma is charming and likeable on screen, and the plot with him trying to live with his brother for 6 months in order to get a big inheritance gets things moving. The first day together the brothers house burns down, so they are off to a good start. A string of slightly amusing to not funny at all scenes flows in a fast pace through the runtime, which for me was hit and miss. The final shootout is reasonably spectacular, but the movie as a whole wasn’t that entertaining.
