Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985)

Keeping within the Vietnam theme, now for something completely different. It is a quintessential one man army 80s action flick, with a few nods and thematic mentions to how America treated veterans after the war was over and the usual distrust of government. Just without the emotional and thematic depth of First Blood.

For a 80s action flick, it is fairly entertaining. Explosion factor and body count is satisfyingly high, the short romantic subplot is totally unnecessary (which it sort of has to be for these sort of films) and the hero wins the war all by himself.
