The Secret World of Arrietty (2010)
It feels redundant to praise every Ghibli film for its animation, but I think this one delivered something a bit extra. How especially the green plants and the lived in house presents itself here is truly astonishing. The story has a classic fairytale atmosphere and while the morals may be simple, how to deal with trust in other people and respect for other forms of living, is something that can be told many times. I watched this with my daughters, and the oldest one was captured and found the story engaging - and a little scary.
