You Were Never Really Here (2017)

This is one of those instances where it isn’t exactly clear what the film is trying to say, but I liked what it did anyway. First of all, I like it doesn’t have a bunch of unnecessary exposition. We see Joe do something, not exactly what. We see glimpses of his traumatic past, but nothing concrete. It isn’t needed, because what is important is his present mental state and how it affects the unsettling conspiracy he gets involved in. Short and efficient in less than 90 minutes. Too few films like that, so very much appreciated.
