I'll Sell My Skin Dearly (1968)
This is fairly standard revenge plot and not really that much that make it stand out among all the other westerns of the time. It is decently well made, some cool shots, entertaining bar fights and I especially liked Spartaco Conversi as the villains henchman. The noteworthy thing to mention, if one can even call it that, is that is heavily inspired by Shane - or I would even say flat out right steals various scenes. However, the main character is called Shane, so the movie is pretty open and blunt about what it is doing. Unlike the American classic, this fails do make expand the rivalry to something larger than personal vendetta. The small romance is underdeveloped and unlike in Shane, there isn’t much sense of a larger conflict that concerns all citizens in the town. I did like the score though.
