Deep Red (1975)

An essential entry in the giallo genre. It is off to an amazing, and the score by Goblin makes everything better. Not quite as colorful as Suspiria but Argento is clearly in a league of his own here. After the start, I felt the film lost a bit of momentum, but it thankfully really picked up once the mystery started to unravel and Marcus really dived into the deep end in his pursuit for finding the truth. The final reveal may not be that interesting, if it wasn’t for the fact that it was hidden in plain sight right from the start. I love when films successfully play tricks on me like that.
