I Want Him Dead (1968)

A pleasantly honest and simple title that could fit almost any spaghetti western. This one starts with a pretty good title song and we follow a Confederate soldier who just want to settle down now with his sister on a small farm. The sister gets raped and murdered and he sets out to find and kill those bandits who did. Parallel to that, a wealthy arms dealer hires the same bandits to kill two generals in order to keep the war going. Because of course, peace is bad for business. These two narratives run in parallel and only occasionally converge, which I found to a bit odd as it felt like they had to keep two narratives going in order to fill the runtime. It does make sense in the end, but it could have been integrated better.

Slight spoiler, but it all ends in a “happily ever after” kind of manner, which was nice to see, as these movies tend to end with the hero just riding into the sunset as lonely and cynical as ever.
