The Return of Ringo (1965)

The second Ringo film shares basically the same cast and crew, but are apparently unrelated and also very different types of film. Here they put a lid on the jokey humor and go all in on a compelling love story, where Ringo returns from the war only to finds his family killed and his wife about to be married to the ruthless leader of the town. Morricone’s score is at times pretty much over the top and very dramatic, but I think they get away with it. It is a larger than life heightened reality of a romance in a spaghetti western setting, that is pretty unique for the genre and worth checking out.
