Take Shelter (2011)
I love how this intense psychological drama constantly keeps the mystery going of whether Curtis is just seeing things or he sees things other doesn’t see. It is an interesting mix of showing psychological issues in a narrative that might be a supernatural sixth sense. Curtis also goes at very methodical, where he keeps the option open that he might be going insane and tries to deal with that, while simultaneously letting his visions drive his decisions to do something. Michael Shannon is really giving his best here. We sympathize with him while also wanting to scream at him that he should just ask for help from the people who care about him. It is a slow burn of a film, but worth the time.
