Nosferatu the Vampyre (1979)
I am not really into vampire movies as such, but I am interested in Herzog and Kinski. Herzog’s trademark are all over this movie with the eerie GOTHIC atmosphere, combined with great use of sound and music. Everything becomes better with a little Wagner. The story is in a way kinda ridiculous with Dracula wanting to buy a small house in a bigger city, and the movie isn’t without small tidbits of humor. Like when he is packing nothing but black coffins. It isn’t scary as such at got a little longwinded, but the the atmosphere and the sense of madness makes this movie from start to end.
