La Jetée (1962)

Being on the most revered and highly acclaimed short films, it feels like required watching. What I got out of it was mostly a general appreciation of how well the still images works as a story telling device. It has a proper dramatic arc and it is far from boring. However, it also feels a bit like the type of science fiction short story where everything builds up to its reveal and then it turns out it isn’t that big of a deal.
