Three Colours: White (1994)

Watching this close to Blue made it even more apparent how different it is, which may be unfair as Blue worked for me on a deep unconscious and emotional level, this is more intellectual as I think the political themes and symbolism with equality is much more in focus than in the other two films.

My previous review still stands and this time around, it is mostly the political symbolism with Poland and France that were more clear to me. Simply knowing more about the directors intention and the historic background this comes out of, made me appreciate it on another level. In that way it is more a “normal” film, at least compared to the very poetic audiovisual film language in Blue.
