Three Colours: Blue (1993)
I think when I watched this almost two years ago it became my first art movie love. I kept comparing it to many things, I tend to think about it and listen to the great music by Zbigniew Preisner and it must work on a very subconscious level that few other films does. Other films can explore themes and personal destinies that I like to ponder and reflect upon, where it is easy to write all kinds of thoughts and opinions about why they are great. This I cannot explain. This just speaks to me and I don’t really know why. I have read all kinds of interpretations and symbolic deep dives on this film, and those are fine and interesting, but it doesn’t bring give me the final answers. I don’t think I need those answers. The film is simply an unique film experience and that is what makes it perfect.
