We Need to Talk About Kevin (2011)
I know that your kids can drive you to the edge of insanity, but this is next level. Tilda Swinton really carries this film 100% and in my opinion, it is really a film about her and not so much Kevin. It is not really interested in how or why Kevin became so evil, but rather how a parent ultimately has to deal with it. And especially how there often is an unreasonable amount of blame and guilt assigned to mothers in particular. Tilda Swinton plays the role to perfection by letting her body language and subdued facial expressions speak for themselves rather than overly emotional outbursts. I liked the experimental editing and cinematography, though it sometimes falls a bit over itself in the process.
