Kramer vs. Kramer (1979)

One of those classic films I have seen references and named often, but it was still a surprise seeing how it actually dealt with the subject matter. A touching story of flawed people trying to do their best, but being forced to have their personhood picked apart in court make them realize that there is more to the other person than their bad sides. Custody cases really bring out the worst, and it is unnatural with a system that demands perfection from flawed people. Which everyone is. I am happy my own parents managed to handle their divorce without any needless drama and were mature enough to keep things levelheaded and fair for their children.
