8 Women (2002)

This Agatha Christie styled locked room murder mystery really goes all in on its farcical colorful style. Everyone is hilariously overacting with exaggerated gestures in playing their roles to the fullest. What each woman may lack in character depth, they make up for it in execution. I did however mostly liked the ending in this, where I didn’t see the twist coming and I thought it was reasonably clever without being over the top, as these types of mystery twists can sometimes be. Some of the songs had some charm to them, but even though there are 8 songs in total, it didn’t feel like a proper musical, so they felt detached from the rest.
