Anatomy of a Murder (1959)
The mother of all court room dramas. Well written and engagingly played by James Stewart making law speak exciting to listen to. Stewart charms both jury and viewer with his questioning, implanting conclusions in our heads we barely notice it happening. Since the lead is played by James Stewart, I think most would be inclined to side with his version on the first pass, but the beauty here is how there is no obvious right or wrong answer, only different perceptions of events that can be subtly skewed one way or the other. And when it is all over, you start to see the manipulation and question everything once again.
