The Mechanic (1972)

This is a stripped to the bones hitman thriller. Focus is on the meticulous process and preparation, being one step ahead and anticipating everything. No need for back story or reasons for the targets.

Doesn’t quite nail the gritty vibe of similar 70s films, and the acting is often a little uninspired, but there is some well made action scenes and the ending was a nice final payoff.
