Beau Travail (1999)

A really difficult film to fully comprehend and write anything meaningful about. I can see all the elements and outlines for why it is considered a masterpiece in film, but I am not personally at that level of experience. The beautiful compositions of pictures poetically narrated had my attention all the way through. I was waiting for the film to fully open for me, which it never really did, but I wasn’t lost either. The disdain Galoup has for Sentain is too opague and fuzzy, though I am sure that is intentional because sometimes people do resent other people for no explainable reason.
