Dressed to Kill (1980)
After Blow Out I had high expectations for this, and it delivered though in a different way. It starts off hilariously hokey and sleazy that I have to think it must be intentional. Sure feels like Verhoeven and De Palma have influenced each other with their approach to campyness. The plot develops nicely and like in Blow Out I found the whole buildup to be more interesting than the finale. The twist and reveal at the end was just a slight “oh”-moment, as I wasn’t overly invested in who the killer actually was, but the journey there is skillfully directed and told.
