The Lady Vanishes (1938)
I picked this up because it was a big inspiration for Flightplan and it is always great to see the original concept for good movie ideas, and as usual Hitchcock is behind many of them. The general mystery of the missing woman works well enough and I always enjoy a good train mystery. I didn’t fully connect with the mix of comedy and rather serious thriller. Some moments and characters are genuinely funny, it just felt like two different movies at times. Especially the first part at the hotel.
