My Neighbor Totoro (1988)
Family movie night and thankfully the kids thought the movie I suggested sounded interesting. Saw it with the Danish dub which actually is pretty good. Seeing it like this made me appreciate this Miyazaki masterpiece even more. I was worried it was too slow and vague for the young ones with how fast paced and plot heavy entertainment they are used to, but it had the opposite effect. They were curious about all the little things, laughed at all the charming and quirky fantasy creatures - especially the buscat, and just enough worried about the sick mom without it being too scary. Absolutely the best family movie night I’ve had.
