The Simple-Minded Murderer (1982)

Stellan SkarsgÄrd plays a young man who because of his speech impairment is treated like a simple minded person. This gets even worse when his mother dies and the local rich factory owner takes him in and treating him basically like a slave.

Given the title, and how the beginning of the movie is basically the ending, it is pretty clear what this constant abuse leads to, but it is still a well played out journey to the inevitable. The religious imagery is a bit weird and they do smear it on pretty thick with how evil the factory owner is with how he treats everyone horribly, but somehow fits the bit of a fairy-tale like narrative.
