Westworld (1973)
My favorite genres are westerns and science fiction. This movie is a great combination of both with its corny cliché western scenes combined with a simple science fiction concept. It is refreshingly straightforward with its narrative. Introduce the concept in a few minutes and everyone will understand it, and then just let the story roll from that baseline. This reminds what the seventies could do for movies. Small budget, great original concept and you have movies with a clear focus that dares to try something new without going overboard. Yul Brunner is the perfect beta model Terminator and Richard Benjamin and James Brolin are doing their parts well, even though they don’t have that much to work with.
