Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984)
My memories of this was a bit better than this rewatch. I remember it for Christopher Lloyd great klingon performance and of course getting Spock back. Both those things are still great but the movie is somewhat uneven in places. The effects are so-so, the klingons switch weirdly between English and Klingon, David’s death doesn’t quite have the impact it should because we barely get his character established and I think I have had enough Vulcan mysticism for a good while now.
What makes this movie is mostly in various separate scenes, while the movie as a whole doesn’t quite have enough weight. The stealing and later destruction of the Enterprise are great scenes, and while it is a bit difficult to not see Emmett Brown every time Lloyd is on screen, he is does the crazy klingon really well.
